My Property Program Description
The City of Fargo is launching a new program called My Property to help residents and police identify and recover stolen or lost property. The online program allows you to create an account, enter information about your property such as serial numbers or pictures and later retrieve the information if you become a victim of theft or other loss, such as a fire. Property that can be entered into your account can include any item you own, such as electronics, jewelry, bicycles and other sports gear, etc.
When you create an account, you will be given a password which will allow you to review or edit your account information at anytime, from any computer. Therefore, if you become a victim of theft, burglary or fire you will still be able to easily obtain your property information. If for any reason you cannot access your account, the Police Department will be able to look up any item you have entered. This capability will allow police to return recovered property to its rightful owner, as well as help arrest and prosecute criminals in possession of stolen property. In addition, the information you store may be helpful during a related insurance claim process.
My Property is a secure site. The only people who can search the database would be sworn police officers in the course of a police investigation.
You must log in or create an account to continue.
